C is for Clothes: Black Tie on a Budget

Recently Mr. C and I attended a black tie party for Barnaby,
a non-profit, strictly social women's group in Fort Worth.
It's basically like a grown up sorority without the drama and we just throw the parties!
Um, yes please!

They had a photo booth and super cute props at the party
and here are some snap shots of me and some of my girls:

(aren't they the cutest?!)
{I wore a long black dress from ASOS : Faux leather jacket with chain detail from Maya in ATX :
Feather Earrings from F21 : Gold Glitter Shoes from Steve Madden}

Basically the whole outfit cost about $175!!!
(which means more goodies for you Baby C!)

Cheese!

R is for Random: Citrus Lane

Ok get ready for it...
because this is pretty cool:

Citrus Lane

It's pretty much the Birchbox for mommies and babies.
Maybe Baby C will be sweet and I'll have to treat him me to this!
(and if you don't know what Birchbox is, then I have some serious 'splaining to do!)

You basically sign up for a monthly subscription (as low as $21/month for 6 months)
and receive a cute little box full of the "so hot right now" baby/tot products.
I google image searched "citrus lane" and here's some examples of people's boxes:

So cute right?!
I think this would make a unique shower gift for my gf's who are preggo too!
And besides, who doesn't love getting a little package on their doorstep every once in a while?!

F is for Friends: Kendra and Kristin

Hello Baby,
Let me introduce you to two of my favorite people...of all time:
(and soon to be your favorite too!)

This is my sneaky best friend Kendra:
Loves (any type) of olives & craves Freebirds burritos,
Sweet Auntie to little Mark and Baby Eliza,
Most generous and compassionate person I know,
Hilarious and slightly awkward sense of humor,
Lived in London and Egypt,
Perfectionist (in a really good way!),
Over achiever and super hard worker,
My first true friend @ TCU & ZTA sister for life,
My Maid of Honor.

This is my sneaky best friend Kristin:
Ms. Organized Chaos,
Lives out of her car (not literally),
Loves to help people, especially kiddos,
Super Fly Dancer (we used to have dance parties in the dorm to James Brown),
Colorado Native but true Texas lover,
Obsessed with Music (especially live music),
Used to survive on wheat bread, Nutella, and chocolate sprinkles,
Lives life to the very fullest,
ZTA sister for life & Bridesmaid.

{side bar: aren't they pretty?!}

They are super sneaky because K & K surprised me this past weekend
when they both showed up at a "date night" Mr. C and I had planned last Thursday.
(Mr. C was gets points too since he knew all along!)
Even sneakier was the fact that Kendra flew in from Jackson Hole to attend my shower.
Kristin lives in Dallas but kept it a secret...
HOW SWEET IS THAT?!

I pretty much have the best friends ever.

Get ready Baby C, these girls will steal your heart!

D is for Design: "Shower" Hostess Gift

This past weekend I had one of my first baby showers
and boy oh boy! was it INCREDIBLE!
My best friends really out did themselves...
They could rule the party planning world if they wanted!
(details soon!)

In honor of my BFF's:
LCC, NLB, MD, MJ, LVK, NBH, JG, CB

I wanted to give them each something super special,
something they could keep for always as a sweet reminder of my appreciation;
especially since they made my shower so memorable for me and Baby C.
Here's what I came up with:
{monogrammed "shower" needlepoint ornaments}

I had the ornaments custom made and am thrilled with how they turned out!
Also, I believe how you wrap the gift is just as important as what's inside,
and besides, I'm practically OCD when it comes to color coordinating so I took extra care into the details;
such as those cute little handmade mustache paper bows. (Tutorial here)

D is for Design: Nursery Progress

I've been busy busy in Baby C's nursery this week.
All that's left is the crib (minor detail)...oh, and Baby C of course...
Sometimes I find myself sitting in the rocker,
and thinking about how freaking cool it's going to be playing with little man in here!

I hung this cool Western painting:
{thanks to "Ninjie" for letting us borrow!}

I painted this:

And worked on the gallery wall:

P is for Photos: Maternity Sneak Peak

I was having a typical (busy and boring) Monday,
until I heard from my sweet and uber talented friends, the Peekaboo Ladies!
Baby C and I are happy to share a quick sneak peak of our close ups...

{And this confetti may also make an appearance!...}

Thank you Kate and Amanda for capturing this special time for us!
