B is for Baby: 168 Days Old

Hello Baby,

Today you are 5 months (oh my gosh), 2 weeks and 1 day old.
What in the world?!

Here's what you've been up to lately:

Rolling all around. From back to belly and then back again.
Holding onto your toes. And putting those toes in your mouth.
Working on sitting up, crawling, standing, and putting one foot in front of the other!

 Being observant. Always interested and exploring what's all around you.

Hanging out with your girl, Pip. 

You're reaching for her and always checking to see what she's doing. 

(and playing with mini Pip your G-Ma got you!)

Splish splashin' in the pool!

Oh, and Mom + Dad had a little night out...

Celebrating July 4th and experiencing fireworks for the first time!
You did so good and you loved it!

D is for Design: "Shower" Hostess Gift

This past weekend I had one of my first baby showers

and boy oh boy! was it INCREDIBLE!

My best friends really out did themselves...

They could rule the party planning world if they wanted!

In honor of my BFF's: 

LCC, NLB, MD, MJ, LVK, NBH, JG, CB

I wanted to give them each something super special,

something they could keep for always as a sweet reminder of my appreciation;

especially since they made my shower so memorable for me and Baby C.

Here's what I came up with:

{monogrammed "shower" needlepoint ornaments}

I had the ornaments custom made and am thrilled with how they turned out!

Also, I believe how you wrap the gift is just as important as what's inside,

and besides, I'm practically OCD when it comes to color coordinating so I took extra care into the details;

such as those cute little handmade mustache paper bows. (Tutorial here)

A Message of Unity: Election 2012

Hello Baby.

A mix of emotions this morning.
And it's not just for me. I'm thinking about...you.
You can't speak for yourself yet.
So it's my privilege to have a voice for you and your future.

Regardless of last night's election results, 

I remind myself that faith endures
and pray that one day you will understand the importance of these words.
Growing up, we would say this every morning before school announcements:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag 

of the United States of America

and to the Republic

for which it stands

one Nation under God

indivisible

with liberty 

and justice for all."

M is for Memories: "BabyMoon"

Hello Baby,

Let's rewind to where this whole thing started.

Little did we know back in April 2012...

My business trip to NYC, turned weekend vacation with Mr. C, was actually a "baby moon".

My husband, Mr. C and I were visiting New York City for the first time together.

We stayed at the W Times Square, in the middle of it all.

9/11 Memorial. The tree behind us was one of the only things that survived

We went to see Chicago on Broadway (one word: incredible),

 toured the 9/11 Memorial Park (there are no words),

walked around Wall Street (made me want to watch the movie, old school style),

went to the top of the world at the Empire State Building (when I realized I really am afraid of heights),

purchased faux Louis Vuitton and Rolex's on Canal Street (from a unhappy lady in a puffy green jacket),

ate Chinese street noodles (so good they changed my life), 
ate (a lot), shopped (a little),

oh and made you, little Baby C.

New York will forever hold a special place in my heart.
